The first sign of milk gone bad would be to smell it. It will have a very sour smell. The second is when you pour it into a hot beverage it will curdle. There will be pieces of white particles floating around. You should also always check the expiration date on the container. Chances are if its past the date it will be bad.

If it's past the date on the jug or carton then I usually don't trust it. Also if it smells sour, or if it tastes sour or looks chunky (yuck)!!!

ok, it`s very simple: microwave half a cup for 25 sec. if the milk separates , then it`s bad, if it doesn`t , it`s safe !!
Good luck!!!
