Generations upon generations passing the beleifs down to their children. Just like it seems completely normal to tribal people to stick bones through their noses, and strange to us.

It is all about faith. Once upon a time, in some countries like mine (Perú, where I was born and raised), we had some other gods. God is in your mind and in your heart. It is, for some people, a way to explain anything that cannot be explained, like the origin of the universe, or why babies can develop from something so small that it can only be seen through a microscope.
God is real for oneself because one believes in Him. It is unreal for others because they do not have him in your mind. It is like those imaginary friends for some children, when they are young.

The god that is created by a man takes on the familiarity of the one that has created it. Such a god is. of course, false because it manifests out of the imagination of a man. Anything can be deemed a god---a car, a house, a job, money and even another human being. There is only one true God, the Lord God. The gods of Buddhism, Hinduism and all the other isms are figments of the imagination. Idols, which are physical representations of human created gods, are dead.

Because of your experience and the experience of others. Mystics usually agree that they have had direct experience with God. Atheists often say that they have never had such experiences. So to them, God is not real.

because every1 is different and believe stronger in god then others. If you want to experience him, then you can. You are free to. If you dont want to be interested, or have any interest in it, then it will obviousley fell sooooo unreal to you.

It's the way a person was trained to think. I was taught to only believe in things that can be proven. Not by emotion or intuition. i think the philosophical term is 'pragmatism'.
