I have lost a lot of weight, about 60 pounds, and I am working on my appearance. I am 5'8" and I have bad posture. Any suggestions?

just make an effort to stand up straight...you could do the whole balancing the book on your head thing while you're at home if you want to practice....but it is honestly more about self confidence

I have found that while walking holding the head up high and making sure that the chin is pointed outward, with shoulders back slightly is helpful. Holding in the stomach isometrically also helps you to walk taller having better posture. It's also good for toning stomach muscles. By the way, congratulations on your weight loss.

I have the same problem. Just be concious of your posture and straighten up whenever you're slouching. You also might want to try yoga- that helped me.

Just try to remind yourself to stand up straight whenever you think about it and it will become a habit.
