The significance wasn't Jesus walking on the water, it was Peter asking to walk to Him. Before looking at the water He placed his trust in Jesus, when his eyes left Jesus his faith faltered and he started sinking. Jesus reached out and saved him. We can have faith in Jesus but when we take out eyes off of him is when we fall.

Jesus was walking on the water to test peters faith and also he did it to calm the storm. When Peter fell in the waves when he didn't keep his eyes on Jesus, then Jesus helped him up and they walked on the water to shore.

That has to do with faith. Peter walked out on faith, but he looked around at the waves and the wind and got scared, he fell and Jesus helped him up.
That is like our walk in faith, keep both eyes on Jesus as we go through this world and if we happen to fall.........call out and He'll be there.

The significance is truly what you make of it. Aren't the rockets flying into outer space significant. That is something we can see here and now. I water ski. Is that significant. If I wore life jackets on my feet could I walk on water.

As the creator of all things, it shows His control over the created order. Its a pretty cool miracle, the really awesome miracle is the the water under His feet.

I don't know, but I bet he would be a really good swimming pool cleaning man. The Jesus that cleans our pool is always taking off when the neghbor who is an INS agent drives by.
My favorite bible verse: "he's so neat, he's so cool, he can walk across you swimming pool, has anybody seen j.c.?

jesus wanted to show his powers when he did that and he didnt continue doing that because maybe that ppl would fine him more powerful than GOD but one thing to remember that GOD FATHER and HOLY SPIRIT are one
but people at that time would not believe very much in him because they were under the law
