In OSHA’s Cold Stress Card, the agency says that if a worker has frost bite, you shouldn’t rub the affected area, because rubbing causes damage to the skin. If the worker has hypothermia, you shouldn’t rub the person’s body or place them in warm water bath, which may stop the heart, the agency says.

Moving the person to a warm and dry area is just part of the process.
Rubbing the affected area will irritate the skin. If the person has had some areas that are damaged by frostbite, you will cause pain as he/she thaws.

It's also not a good idea to stick the affected area in hot water either.
If you rub the affected area, the water that was in the skin cells that is frozen may break off and cause problems.

No, they won't get baited into pier pressure so easily. They are made of tougher stuff than to succumb to such petty attempt of fishing for acceptance. They ride the big waves of life and swell with high self-esteem. Cheers
