So that 21,000 different people at Y!A can ask the same question.

I'm sick of people that say it's a all volunteer millitary, if they didn't want to go to iraq blah blah blah.....1st off. Correct. Any person since sept 11th that has joined cant really cry about being in -- Afghanistan. Nothing was mentioned about Iraq after sept 11th... Now the one's that joined after March 2003 and are in Iraq can't cry either. Now as for the Soldiers that joined before both scenarios, i think they have a right to complain. During peace time most people join the military to get a education, tech experience or just plain o make a carreer out of it. The recruiters at the ole' recruiting offfice don't mention the fact that, you know, we have a great job for you but even though this is a cake job you might be in the front lines with it. Naval Culinary Specialist - hmmmm a cook in the Navy, Hmmm i'd be on a boat- Ok sign me up. Right after basic/ait off you go to the persian gulf. Sailor we are assing you to a forward marine expiditionary force. You'll have to cook for them in the field. Huh!?? 3 weeks later Killled by a roadside EID. So much for being a culinary specialist. Thanks Mr. Recruiter. This is based on a true story. People who are misled and think that the military could be a great carreer choice. Sometimes it is but then every other generation has its' wars. Wrong Generation to join the military. Oh by the way, 21,000 isn't gonna cut it. Send about 300,000 - 400,000 . Matter of fact. Looks like the best thing we do is invade. Pull everyone one back to kuwait or wherever and take a month off and re-invade Iraq

Why should it matter? If they weren't going to Iraq, they'd be sitting on their butts collecting a check twice a month for doing nothing and I'd much prefer them to earn their keep. I was in the military and if they didn't want to go, they wouldn't have signed up for the military.

Here's another question for you; what happens to the Iraqis if we were to leave? They would be taken over by the insurgents who are murdering people left and right cause they are from another country and they are born and raised to fight in wars. They don't care about the out come they only want to fight.

Did you know that the Iraqis are told that American blacks are spawns of the devil and when they see one, they are always looking at their butt trying to see the soldier's tail?

Boy I'm seeing a lot of ill informed democrats on this question who have been brainwashed to believe lies. I pity them and I'm not even a repub.

Looking at your answers, I bet those who complain Bush
never spent time in active duty, have never served either.
If the politicians are only going to give him six months to
end the war or pull out, then it surely is necessary to add
more troops to pull this off than we now have in place. If
I was a soldier, I'd appreciate him sending all the help he
could, wouldn't you? There's your answer. Bush wants the
U.S. (the world power) to be victorious. (so do I)

Win. Take a couple of divisions of Marines and soldiers across the country. Cover all the bases and kick *** and take names. Declare victory and walk. Period. Pull back to Kuwait. Stand down until something flares up. Send in a reaction force with plenty of air power, put out the fire, back to base, then kick back and wait for the next dummy who wants to start trouble. Overwhelming firepower-short and sweet. Oh, and play that piece from Apocalypse Now from the lead gunship. Pumps up the troops and scares the crap out of the enemy.

Well, I sure as hell wouldn't won't to be the one of the few soldiers left over there knowing I was outnumbered. It would be a death sentence for the few left. He's right to keep a heavy presence there, either that, or pull completely out and leave no troops at all and let the Iraqi's destroy themselves.

It was requested by Congress, by the generals, and by the Hamilton report. But once Congress got what they demanded, they changed their minds because they always want something to complain about and will NEVER give the president credit... even if was their own ideas.

Bush is an american killer he acts more like a dictator then a president. He will go down as the worst president to ever serve our country. How dare he send troops to war without proper equipment they need to survive. What kind of Bull**** is this I tell you he is asking for trouble.

Because he couldn't withdraw the troops, thus admitting that he was totally wrong about the Iraq war, but he had to do something to show that he was "changing" his plan and he had 21,000 troops to spare, so he sent them into Iraq. But he needs more like 300,000 troops to win in Iraq, 21,000 is just to little to late.
