Life as it stood before religion lacked meaning. People hate the idea of being meaningless, so they created "meaning" with religion. It is a perfect way to distract you from the realities of life.

The 'literal' Christians want to scare everyone into believing what they believe...or say they do (about fear-some of the torture/killing devices they came up with in the Dark Ages are pretty d*mn scary!)
The 'gnostics' saw it as a concept of being without God-funny, there are some Christians in Hell :-)

BTW, Satan was created by the literal brand by combining a few 'bad guys' in the Old Testament so there would be an ultimate 'bad guy' when people starting to wonder why God would let 'bad things happen to good people'.(There is a 'satan' in the book of Job that, in the older texts, lists 'satan' with a lower-case 's', signifying it is a anti-human angel-not an equal deity that opposes God. Somewhere in the Old Testament it says 'I the Lord God do all these things. I create good and evil'

Without religion there are no wars? You are quite funny. Wars have been fought since the beginning of recorded history and probably before that too. Wars are about power and control, nothing else. Religion is just a tool that war mongers have used to rally others to war. Didn't know that Christians created Hell and the devil, thanks for info there. You are quite funny though.

I will do no such thing; Christians did not create either one of those things. Hell translated is grave. The Devil is an actual entity who has several names, satan being one of them.
Are you really ignorant enough to think that if we just began to believe there was no God, that all the worlds wars would end?
You need to get your head outta your ***, dude.
Satan will be coming on the scene pretty soon, and he's coming disguised as Christ. When he comes doing miracles, tell me this: will you believe its Christ, and that you were wrong, or will you know that its the fake - satan pretending to be Christ, and then have to also realize you were wrong?
Two wrongs still make wrong. Looks like you'll be screwed either way, huh?

They created hell and the Devil to scare the potential converts into converting to Christianity. If they didn't convert then they'd be going to hell & would live with the devil for eternity. Now that is a powerful piece of persuasion. Join or you are going to hell.

First of all no Christian created anything, Only God does that, & it is created for people like you. Hey I am not happy with many things our President does, but The Old saying is, if you don't like it & want to get away from it, Leave the USA, as for me, I am happy right here in Indiana USA

Christians didn't "invent" anything. God created the devil (Lucifer) who was an angel that got thrown out of heaven. God created hell also.

It is SO annoying when people post idiotic comments just to get attention or cause people to get upset or to start an argument.
FYI....Christians will not be the ones in hell. I hope you realize this before your life on this earth ends.

They couldn't sell the cure without inventing the disease.
But technically, they didn't invent Hell and the devil. They borrowed them from other religions, and just made up a new set of rules for them.

Probably just enhances our own human thinking, those of us of course that do not suffer fom anti social personality disorders.
The normal human being has a conscience which allows us with or without religion to discern between right and wrong. (heaven or hell) so do not blame your guilty feelings on religion.
