If you and the so called Christians bothered to not only read the Bible, but to understand it, they will find that EVERYONE goes to Heaven!

Hi Steve, What's up with Yahoo deleting your questions? I mean I can understand people not taking some of them seriously like this one, but you have had some great questions lately. I missed one yesterday and before I could answer it fully this morning they deleted it and a bunch of others. What's up? I'll take it up with them to!!!

Anyway, here is the question you posted and my answer, hope you get it before they wipe it out. Email me and let me know how to get in touch with you if they wipe you out totally here. You are my favorite Athiest asker. I would hate to lose contact!

Question:

Ok try this angle out for size, perhaps Satan did what he did to save us from eternal mindless slavery to God?
Imagine, if Satan never tempted Adam and Eve, they would've mindlessly pranced around in the garden, naked, forever and forever, we would've never existed. Due to Satan's interference, the cause and effect gave us a chance to exist! If not for satan disobeying God, if we did come into existence, we would've been ignorant worshippers, never experiencing anything but joy and sweetness, missing out on pain, suffering, and all that stuff that makes life more interesting.

Plus, without Satan, that guy you love, Jesus, would have never come into play, he wouldn't have been necessary. So really, you should have a little thanks for satan, not only for putting into motion you coming into existence, but also for causing the action to move Jesus into play.

Answer:

Hi Meat,

Sorry don't know how I missed this one yesterday. What you say actually make some relevant sense to those of faith. Why would anyone of faith ignore this question. It is one of the most basic of beliefs.

Yes, in Satan's/Lucifer's (what ever you want to call him) effort at rebellion, he was actually doing the will of the Father. The temptation of Adam and Eve, was indeed necessary or they would have lived in a state of immortality in the garden of Eden.
That however was not the plan from the out set. We were sent here as a proving period. That proving includes choice and progression which requires opposition. It is part of the plan.

Satan and those spirits who followed him provide that catalyst for opposition in all things.

Man can endure and cast off those things in favor of integrity and what conscience (the light of Christ) indicates is true and by so doing progress and affirm that knowledge, strengthening that ability to discern right and wrong, good and evil. Or man can ignore conscience, forsake integrity, and rationalize the acceptance of falsehoods.

In so doing one denies truth, weakens the ability to discern, and becomes desensitized to the promptings of conscience. As such the fallen man, if he is unwilling to return to the path of conscience is left to the rationalization of the doctrine of man. By nature the doctrine of man is faulty.

Your second comment, about without Satan, Christ would have never come into play is an interesting assumption. One that does not need to be debated since Satan was indeed a part of The Plan of Happiness. He was, possibly unwittingly, doing the will of the Father.

The one contention that I have with you assumption is that I should be thankful for Satan. I am thankful for the plan of salvation/happiness which includes by necessity opposition. I think maybe what you mean is I should be thankful to Satan.

It was that characteristic, the desire for self glorification rather than to bring honor/glory to the Father that was the failure of Satan in the first place and was the difference between he and our brother Jesus. Both are indeed sons of God. One was humble, open to understanding and willing do that which his Father asked. The other presuming to know a better way, desired to bring glory unto himself. When the two plans, that of the Father, represented by Jesus, and that of Lucifer, were presented to us as a counsel, we, knowing the will of our Father, and desiring to be like him chose his plan. Satan, then chose to rebel against our Father and took those spirits that would follow him. He, at that time committed Blasphemy. It was his rebellion not his variant plan that caused him to be cast out.

It is his rebellion that then made him and his followers the tool/catalyst for the necessary opposition in the plan. It was his choice that made him what he is. Had he choose to accept the plan as chosen by each of us, our father would have used another choice for opposition but it was not necessary.

My choice is to give thanks and all honor to our Father, to acknowledge, and strengthen the Light of Christ (conscience) that is given to all men, to maintain my integrity, and progress, relying on the confirmation of the spirit to confirm those things that I have worked out in my own mind, through study, pondering, and application and decided for myself to be true.

I have not spoke of anything here that is disparity from proven natural law. Yes I speak of things that are yet to be proven of man or accepted of all men. However, as evidence or corollary support this, this scenario of choice and rebellion in many forms are replicated every day here in this state. Fortunate for many, those who take the path or choose that which is not of our Father do so without a fullness of knowledge.
