My closet doors are huge! They are 91 1/2 " tall and vary in width from closet to closet. I want to build them myself because I believe they will be a little cheaper and I love custom things. Any advice on how to do this? Interesting materials? Web sites that have pics for inspiration? Personal stories and experiences? I would appreciate anything! Thank you in advance!

I hope you're a fair carpenter. Your local Home Depot has books on building different things and I'm sure they have at least one book that is exactly what you are looking for.

My closet door is not as big as yours, but what I did since I am considered an ole hippie is. I went online and found some long beaded curtains, The match my carpet and bed comforter. Replaced the door with these instead and I just love them. It seems like I am geting in and out of my closet at least 30 times a day. Just going through the beaded curtain is so much easier too.

I agree with Roxie - also, could use fabric - either as "curtains" across the opening or you could make two "frames" and stretch material/fabric over the frames and just staple.... good luck with your project
