After an operation, usually the internal bleeding, if it happens, is from or around the site of operation. Its termed oozing if it is insignificant in quantity and the vital parameters of a patient are preserved. However the same bleeding may turn to be serious if the bleeding is significant which starts affecting the vital parameters. If it is not contained and managed properly, there are chances of a patient collapsing. Hence it becomes necessary to open up the site of operation once again and try to localize the bleeding site and stop further bleeding. Many times the bleeders are difficult to identify and therefore warm packs are left for a while with a hope that this would stop the bleeding and it usually successful. Thereafter another fresh examination is done and the bleeders located and ligated or coagulated by diathermy. If the bleeding follows use of blood thinners (anticoagulants), their dose correction will usually suffice or there may be a requirement of infusing plasma products, which can halt the bleeding if it is due to poor coagulation.
Well it all depends on the condition of a patient. If the pulse, blood pressure and general condition is well maintained, there is no need of any immediate active management as such. One waits and watches the condition closely as liquefied blood keeps passing for a while through the anus, vagina, or urethra after an operation on the gut, internal genitalia or urinary system respectively. It is a common feature after an operation/surgery and stops on its own in a day or two. But it becomes another issue if the patient starts sinking, when the vital parameters will be deranged and immediate active management becomes necessary. Best luck.

sometimes people have clotting problems after suregery or infection that may interfere with their clotting. So, it may not be that they're bleeding from one specific souce, but many. (cause the problem is clotting) Sometimes they can bleed from their internal surgery site, and the docs may have to open them up and take another look. Sometimes people can develop stress ulcers, and need medicine and sometimes an endoscopy (eithe upper or lower) to try and find the source of bleeding. Sometimes they have a chronic anemia , and just can't form blood cells quick enough. And, sometimes docs know their pt is loosing blood from somewhere and they do a 'tagged red blood cell study' to try to find it. So, there's many ways, sounds like maybe you have some questions you should talk over with a doc. Try writing them down before you do, (if you can) that way you won't forget to ask them all. Hope all works out OK

Symptoms of internal bleeding include them having pale, clammy skin, an increased heart rate and a stupor or they are in a confused state.
Call for some medical help (preferably emergency) and whilst you are waiting, lift up the casualty's legs. This is all you can do for now.
