send flowers with a card congradulating them on the impending arrival of their grandchild?
send them little gifts... a bid... a hat... and then one bootie to each (same day) with a note... that they need to save them for when the baby comes over.... in a very everyday way, like no big deal...and thank them for the gift, of the grandchild.....

take them to dinner and have the waiters sing congrats on a grandchild.. instead of the happy birthdays they usually do....

that's all I got? sorry if they suck...
I had to tell my family so often that last time I just kind of said to my mother.. oh yeah and I am pregnant.. talk to you later bye.... on my way out the door after tea with her.... my husband? poked my head into the room he was in (sleeping) and said.. by the way.. might want to think about getting us another crib for this years crop and walked out as I heard WHAT?? and saw his jaw hit the floor.... lol... I married him understand end of 2001...he thought he was sterile... and we used control... and since then? three babies...2002-2005 so in 2005? it made sense to refer to another baby as a "crop" ;) lol... anyway good luck!

here are some: (mostly stories from others)
Framed ultrasounds are other gifts that scream, "I'm pregnant!" If you don't want to wait for the ultrasound you can simply give a baby picture frame with a note that reads, "Picture to arrive 7/3 (or whenever you are due).

For the first grandchild in a family anything with the word "grandparent" displayed prominently is a gift that says it all. You can give a grandparenting book, a shirt, a mug, a needlepoint pillow, a refrigerator magnet -- anything at all.

buying these special M and M's that say "baby" and "I'm pregnant" or something like that on them. They are pink and blue. She was like "Do you want some M and M's, Im not going to eat them?" So he started eating them, and noticed they were all pink and blue. He thought maybe they won something and went online to find out if there was some kind of contest going on! Finally, she had to just tell him to read the M and M's and then he got it. It was their second baby.

My parents found out when I got a cake, had the people make it say 'And baby makes three' and then we had them over and brought the cake out...thats when the yelling got started...(my dad still thinks I've ruined my life...)
My mother-in-law found out when I got my ultrasound, and then put it in a pictureframe that said 'I love Grandma' and she got it almost immediately because she's not a grandmother. Our little one is her first.

print out a pregnancy ticker onto postcards. We are going to choose one that doesn't blatantly say that we're expecting. Then we are going to mail them out. We want it to be a big surprise for the family and we want them to try and figure it out on their own.

hope this helps some.

In our area, some of the local grocery stores and other places have reserved parking spaces near the handicapped spots, only the sign says "Reserved for Mothers to Be or with Young Children". I've always thought to myself that would be a cute way to tell someone ... just pull into that spot as if you have every right to park there (technically, you do -- you're pregnant ;) ... and they will ask why you're using that reserved spot for expectant mothers. And answer "because I am!" :)

I also love the idea submitted by a previous person ... the baby carrots, babyback ribs, etc. That's clever!

I found cute little bibs that said "I love Grandma", "Going to Grandpa's House" and wrapped them separately for both my mom and dad (and my hubby's mom and dad) and had them open them at the same time. It was so cute to watch their faces as they opened them at looked at what they were and figured out what it meant. Priceless! And then they kept the bibs to use when they babysat for us.
