ex gf does not respond to emails but she has been taking my calls recently w/ decent conversations. so?

Question

i usually ask her for coffee or a movie or something light in the email but she doesn't respond. But when I call she picks up to my surprise. We talk about general stuff but I am kind of afraid to ask her about getting toghether when we are talking because I sense she doesn't want me to go there (at least yet). What is going on? If she wants nothing to do with me, why even pick up my calls? I don't hae a restricted number so she knows it is me. Is this just part of the excruciating process us men have to go through to get a great woman back? should I just be patient? I am not doing anything over the top, just trying to keep a line of communication open. I call maybe once a week, usually with something informative so as not to waste her time.

It sounds like you have to be more forward and ask. Is she interested or not?
Atleast you'll know if your just wasting your time and you can move on.

informative? please, you call once a week because that's how long it takes you to FIND something informative to ask. she picks up the phone for the same reason i do with a man i dated after my divorce, he's not someone i care to date and i have nothing better to do at that particular time. in my head i know he wants to get back with me, he states this in his emails and offlines. but he wont say it on the phone, and for that i'm glad. she has a problem hurting your feelings. and why are you keeping a line of communication open. i ask that man the same question. he gives me the same lines i'm sure you give her, "well i think we can be friends". but i'm not stupid, and nor is she. you want to get back with her. why else would you say"if she wants nothing to do with me why even pick up my calls?" well she picked it up to be civil/friends. you however took it as a sign she may want to go out with you. she doesn't, otherwise she'd have answered those emails. i know i'm harsh, but it's cause i spent alot of time making simple gestures into more than what they are. we all have. but you gotta move on.

Have you ever thought that maybe she prefers to talk to you over the telephone? In emails, you get no intonation or any real feeling. In fact, many written messages get misinterpreted by the reader. It is very possible that you are coming on very, very strong in your emails. Another reason is maybe she has you blocked?! In any case, don't be too pushy or needy. Girls hate that. Give her time and space to figure out how she would like to proceed.

She may be answering her phone because she doesn't know who it is when she picks it up. Leave her alone unless she calls you. I'm not calling you a stalker, you don't sound like that, but she can't miss you if you don't go away. Give her some space to decide what she wants.

maybe she answers your calls just out of decency. maybe she no longer has access to a computer who knows, but quit being a coward and ask her out, or maybe just maybe is she is anything like myself, she won't go backwards. I try not to date men that are ex's. its hard enough going forward why go backwards????
