Insanity is obviously a defense used by some...but insanity is a legal term, not a medical term. I think that this is frequently used in defenses where a murder was not necessarily premeditated but as a result of extreme duress or something like that

Most killers (i.e. serial killers and such) have a mental disorder - a personality disorder (or a combination of personality disorders). In many cases, these disorders can be used in an insanity defense as well.

I think some are and some aren't. It really depends on why the killed someone. If you were being attacked or raped then no, I wouldn't consider the person defending themselves insane. But if some Joe Smith off the street kidnapped a person and killed them for no reason then yes, I would consider them insane.

sanity is a fragile thing.like the others most of it depends on why
the person killed the other.i guess to most people they couldnt
begin to understand any killing.sometimes people make a stupid choice.other times it can be in defense of self or some one that
couldnt defend themselves.other times people just dont care.the
other has done something the other sees as needing to be punished and they are the person to do it.a true insane person
killing is a rare thing.unfortunate is that they are there too.

In some people's eyes, yes. But some people say that Killer's are insane because they dont understand them. Everyone thought Albert Einstein was crazy but he was smart past that of we can know. Some killer's are but really it depends how and why they kil.

Well, some killers may be insane,I mean, they can't judge normally, and some people not. Some people can kill in an act of furry, others may kill because they like to do that,at the beggining they killed perhaps acidenttaly, and after that, they kill again, and again etc.If you define insane by the lack of reason, the obsesion for killing, then yes, they are insane, those who kill repeatedly.

Not necessarily. Some do try an insanity defense, but this is not that easy to prove.
