If you qualify for treatment, treat! Even if your genotype doesn't respond to antiviral chemotherapy, it doe's give your liver a nice break!

as for diet:
no red meat
no meat/veggie/vitamin with iron
no proccessed sugars, no artificial sugars
NO alcohol! (not even rubbing alcohol applied to skin!)

what you can do:
purchase stevia (a natural sweetener found in GNC, but now stores carry some items with Stevia)
drink plenty of clear liquids-water is the best for no additives-however green tea is great! (unless you have panic attacks stick to deacaf)
milk thistle is the ONLY herb that shows anti-inflammatory properties in us heppers. check with your doctor before taking-especially if your doing blood labs.) milk thistle does not cure hcv-which many think it does, however, it does not touch the virus and it's ability to do it's damage-it only affects alt and ast levels)

moderate activity-go for a walk

if your going to do antiviral chemotherapy, get on a good antidepressant no later than a month prior to treatment. you may have to add an anti-anxiety pill such as buspar as the third week into treatment you might not be sleeping well.

ask your doctor about trials-they are paid for.

last but not least, get all the support you can get whether it be in person or online.

good luck

See your doctor regularly and follow her advice. Avoid alcohol. Know that the natural remedies and homeopathic treatments have been proven ineffective in research studies.

Be very careful not to spread the disease. Don't allow anyone to use your personal care items that might have tiny amounts of blood -- comb, nail file, toothbrush, razor, and so on. Keep a Band-aid in your wallet to use in case of a minor injury, even a paper cut, so you don't infect someone else.

All natural NutriFeron is very effective in treating this condition. It's a clinically proven blend of immune-strengthening plant extracts. It strengthens the immune response by boosting the body's natural interferon.

Dr. Kojima, the immunologist who discovered interferon in 1954, spent 40 years searching for a natural interferon booster - the result being NutriFeron.

It's a proprietary blend of natural plant extracts from pumpkin seeds, safflower flowers, plantago seeds, and Japanese honeysuckle flower buds which have been clinically proven to support and stimulate the natural immune response process at the cellular level with no side effects..

Hope this is helpful and feel free to contact me with questions or if interested in the website.

First don't panic and take it easy, it doesn't mean you are going to die, in that case all of us will die any how right? All this people are right in their advices but they forget the main thing that is to be positive, the more you worry, the more your health depreciate. Visit all this web sites that they recommend you, so you get more information, but don't forget what I told you, dance like no one is watching, listen to music you like, etc.... BE POSITIVE!!
