Penecillin is an anti-biotic. No medicine should ever be taken while drinking. It negates the effects of the medicine and can cause serious side effects.

It probably is better to say that it isnt really dangerous instead of safe, although it is probably a good idea to take it easy while your body is fighting the infection.

The type of infection could get worse if you are drinking [Do not drink while suffering from pneumonia unless you want to die from it]. All infections and most antibiotics will put greater strain on your liver during an infection because the liver has to remove all the antibodies and other immune complexes from your blood stream, drink doesnt help either.

Not really, as the alcohol will greatly diminish the effects of the penicillin in your body. Try to avoid alcohol while taking penicillin-just let the drug do its thing first, then go ahead and rink after your prescription has been completed.

I know the docs says not to but I've done it every time I took penicillin and it hasn't harmed me. Don't know if it made the penicillin less effective but I always got well.
