Good quality dark chocolate, melted, spread on top of cake and top with grated chocolate.
Not sure about the edible confetti, I should think a shop specialising in cake making and decorating items.

Whipped cream, or homemade cream cheese frosting - yum!
Usually you can find the edible confetti at larger Craft Stores or Cookware stores with a cake decorating section (In the US. see Michaels).

My favorite is Confetti cake with cream cheese frosting...you can find it at your local grocery store in the states. The confetti frosting is excellent on strawberry cakes!

I like frosting normally, but sometimes some Cool Whip tastes delicious on a nice moist chocolate cake.

Butter cream frosting( homemade) you use 4 1/2 cups confectioners sugar, 3/4 cup of butter, 1 tablespoon vanilla

Buttercream icing! I don't like sprinkles, etc-ruins the cake for me! but...you can get then in any party store or the baking aisle of the regular grocery store.
