No , they dont .
Buddhist are at all times try to perfect their virtues and one of the way is through humbleness . Being humble helps us to cultivate moral values . We do not feel low self esteem .
We try to avoid egoism by practicing humbleness . We do not wish for unnecessary attention because it will eventually be the reason of downfall for somebody or also , it may give rise to problem to us .
Being Ego in any way is just like creating a harsh road for ourself . People will stay away , everyway you go , the negative energy will always follow . No one will like or welcome anyone with egoness .
Buddhism does not mention about being low self esteem for your information . Maybe you have misunderstood the things that you have read . Humbleness is the word

What would make you ask that question? What have you read that equates Buddhism with low self- esteem? If you expanded your question perhaps I could provide you some answers.

Apparently you don't have a very deep understanding of what you read. I have no idea what low self-esteem has to do with Buddhism otherwise.

Your question is too vague. Either you have something specific in mind, or else you are just trying to upset people. which is it?
