We are not all terrorists. In fact, I personally was born and raised in New Jersey and live within seeing distance of where the World Trade Center stood. I too felt like fighting back against those responsible for these attacks against my country. So why are we all getting a bad name for the actions of a few? I don't accuse all Catholics for being responsible for the Crusades.

i know that but many arabs in this world make the rest of the muslims look bad... "all affect one..one affects all".. if arabs are burning israeli, american and danish flags then the world will assume that they are crazy bastards...if shiits have this holiday where people cut themselves and scream allah...pepole assume that the ENTIRE group (as well as sunis) is crazy...if terrorists make a huge mess in israel..then people will go "look at those arabs"...that's how it is.. if you're a muslim, people think you're an arab...if you're an arab.. well you're a muslim...(even though some arabs are christian and some muslims are irish and pale)...that's just how it is.

I am jewish american, and i find this so embarrassing! i cannot tell you how many times people have just assumed that i have a negative opinion of muslims - i don't.
all eastern religions support war and hate of other cultures at least somewhere in their holy books. that doesn't mean that the people of those faiths still believe those things are right.
the truth is, the government wants us all to hate and blame each other so that we don't think about all the bad things they are doing.
mainstream media helps water the seeds of mistrust that the govt plants. you can tell when every big budget film or any tv show was made by the "bad guys". During the fifties they were always asian, in the eighties it was always some guy with a russian accent, now you can follow the plot just by looking at who is middle eastern. (My hubby and I actually made this into a drinking game!)
Most people are too lazy not to believe in stereotypes. Sad but true.

1) why do you give catholics a pass? Those living today had nothing to do with the Crusades, but the doctrine that supported the crusades is still 'cannon' - official church doctrine. Read Council of Trent. It's very enlightening. And whatever some modern Catholic says - they cannot ignore or overturn it because it's officially 'straight from God.'

2) If the Koran is taken literally, it is the duty of Muslims to kill Christians, Jews and Muslims who aren't serious enough.

Could you maybe come up with a less recent example than the crusades?

Also, how many catholics today believe the crusades were just and would go on another crusade if they could?

Unfortunately, there are too few Muslims like you who are actively speaking out against the hijacking of their religion by terrorists.
Keep it up. Peace.

Largely it's due to media portrayal.

And it's always so much easier to demonize people who are different.

Humans are pack animals, dear.
