When I turn this Mitsubishi on the only light I get is a solid green light. I have a service warranty through Best Buy but I don't want the TV to be in the shop this weekend because I'm having a Super Bowl party. I don't konw what to do, I don't want it to go out during the game.

If only 1/2 went dark sounds like a light engine problem..tell me how Meany time does the led RED or GREEN blink on the set when you bring it out of stand by? Also do you hear the color weal turning or buzzing after the ballast fires up the lamp?? this is your 4000v line..be careful don't open the TV

You'll need to replace it eventually, but as long as it is bright, and stays on longer than you get annoyed with any intermittent black-outs -- keep it.
