I have no idea. Personally, I think I can make better coffee than Starbucks with just my coffee maker and some flavored creamer. It's much cheaper, too! : )

Convenience and time. If you get paid $10/ hour to work, and you get some more sleep plus make it to work on time it's worth buying coffee and paying a bit more.

Well, Starbucks coffee (the most commonly purchased, I assume) has about twice as much caffeine as the average cup.
A lot of people don't actually get just coffee--they're getting a latte, or a cappucino, etc. that are difficult to make without expensive equipment and skill.
But really, I think mostly, it's laziness.

I like the feeling of freedom it gives me ... I like someone else's coffee ... and I like getting a buttered roll ... and the deli smells good in the morning ... and I like to throw away stuff in the trash and be done with it ... that is what street food is all about, I am sure ... all over the world is street food... in the city where there is early morning coffee and stuff in the "Western" parts of the city, and in Chinatown you can get noodles and bean sprouts for breakfast ... it's delicious and fun... I like being part of that vibration. ..

Because they are having a Tim Horton's coffee in the morning to enlighten their dreadfull drive to work!!!!! I don't care how you try,,, you just can't make a coffee at home, taste like a Tim Horton coffee.
This message is brought to you by Tim's. Morning, noon, and night!
Always fresh, always Tim Horton's.
P.S. "Starbucks" vs. "Tim Hortons" lol

They are way too lazy. They could probably pay off their car a year or two early, if they'd stop going to Starbucks every morning. I grind organic coffee beans myself every morning. The bag of beans cost about $10 dollars and lasts about 3 weeks.

Well, personally I don't like just plain coffee, and there are probably quite a few other people like that.So going to a Starbucks or something is easier.

Well I think it taste's better if other people make it!
Also because you get it in the cups, you can take it with you.
It may seem like a style icon to have the cup.
Too lazy to make their own.
Depends on the person I guess.

I have a few reasons of my own:
* I can never make it as good as Dunkin Donuts
* They mix heavy cream into their creamer, making it way too tasty.
* stopping on the way to run errands or go to work gives me a sense of "spoiling" myself. As well as meeting with the local community in the morning.
