it is a loss of pigment, if you are your and have spot it is just those hair follicles could be damaged and not producing pigment. When you get older your body just stops producing as much and you gradually become grey.

blonde hair sometimes causes it because it's yellow and it can go to grey hair & old age.

Wisdom! In Proverbs16:31 it says[ The silver-haired head is a crown of glory.If it is found in the way of righteousness.]Be proud of your gray hair. It's better than loosing your hair.

Hair follicles age like skin does. Hair loses it's elasticity, moisture, pigment, and other factors as it ages.

Old age and basically treating your hair like crap. If your a woman I would say it looks sexy to leave a two streaks gray and dye or color the rest.
