There were NO aircraft carriers docked at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941.

Present in the harbor at the time of the attack were 8 battleships, 8 cruisers, 29 destroyers, 9 submarines, 50 other ships, and 390 planes.

The following battleships were docked at the time of the attack:

USS ARIZONA
USS NEVADA
USS CALIFORNIA
USS OKLAHOMA
USS WEST VIRGINIA
USS MARYLAND
USS TENNESSEE
USS PENNSYLVANIA (in drydock)

Six of the eight battleships were sunk, four of which were later raised, repaired, and returned to active service. The USS OKLAHOMA and the USS ARIZONA did not return to service. The OKLAHOMA was raised but was too badly damaged to repair, and was towed out to sea and sunk. The ARIZONA, of course, remains in place from the moment of the attack.

In addition to the battleships listed, if I remember right, the USS UTAH was berthed along the side of CINCPACFLT as a bombing target, as when I was stationed there in 73-74, it was still laying on its side there. The Arizona is visible at times during the day and you can still see oil seep out. It will make you stop and think about the lives that were lost and the men who are entombed in the Arizona forever.

My mother was a year behind a man in high school whose body is among those still in the Arizona. He graduate in June of 1941 and went down on December 7th, 1941, as President Franklin Delano Roosevelt stated on December 8th, 1941 during his request for a "Declaration of War" against the Empire of Japan, it is a "Date that will live in Infamy."
