I was thinking of installing a granite tile countertop but am not sure what to finish the edges with. I'm not sure what kind of borders are available.

My son just did his in 12x12 black granite tiles, and along the edge went with a nice 2" x 6" mosaic tile with blue,Burgundy beige color, looks nice. For the face of the edge he's using wood which I'll stain a light color and then urethane. Good luck. If you'd like to e-mail me is fine cause he's sent me pictures.

If you truly are using granite tiles rather than solid granite, I would recommend cutting strips of tile with an easily rented wet saw. Let your top tiles hang over enough to allow for the 1/4" or so the facing pieces will need, so they flush out. The "cut" edge of the tile will be unpolished, but rubbing a sealer on them will make it appear polished.

A good deal for the tile but you will need the grout line. Solid surfacing requires full-size sheets.
