TMJ - I think that's what it's called. It's a common thing and has to do with the joint at the jaw. What I've been told is not to open as wide. In other words, open you mouth only as wide as it cah go without popping. And chew smaller portions (bite the gum in half).

A Long Time ago my friend had that same problem but she was totally restricted from gum.

Turns out when she got her braces, her jaw was realigned and she can chew gum all she wants now.

Try talking to your orthodontist.

TMJ - total mandibular jaw. your jaw bone is wearing out. stop chewing gum. see your dentist asap. avoid sticky, chewy foods.

It means your heads going to fall off. LOL, Kidding you. TMJ like everyone says, and don't be too quick to get surgery for it either. There are non surgical things you can do to fix it.
