Hey, I've been going to the gym now for hmm... about 7 months. I have been varying my workout, eating healthy and have been taking whey protein on a daily basis. For the last month or so, it seems that I haven't gained any muscle, or any weight at that matter, and I haven't been able to increase the weight comfortably within the last 3 weeks. I was wondering if taking creatine would help at all, and if there are any negative side effects short/long term?

You seem to be implying that you were gaining both strength and size until recently, so you probably know what you are doing. You might be hitting a plateau because you are overtraining. I suggest you take two weeks with only light training, lighter weights and don't go to failure, and cut back on any heavy cardio you might be doing. While your on a break start taking some creatine and generally try to relax. When you do your first heavy workout after the break you will be stronger than you were two weeks ago.
Creatine monohydrate has been proven safe and effective short and long term. I cycle my creatine 5 weeks on 2 weeks off. I have found that the loading phase is not necessary and waste of money. The most common side effect is gastrointestinal discomfort and a feeling of being bloated. If you mix the creatine in enough water so it is completely dissolved this shouldn't be a problem. Room temp or warm water works best.
Also add 30 grams of fast digesting high quality carbs like dextrose or glucose to your post workout shakes if you aren't already doing so.

sound like you have not lift weights hard enough. a good work out is when you leave the gym sweat and during workout, you can feel your muscle tighten. put on music that will kick your adrenaline. this will make you stay focus and from distraction.

As silly as this may sound.....eat a peanut butter sandwich before each meal as this will help your meals digest slower and it makes muscles grow quicker.
