Where should i stop over?

I am travelling to australia sometime around may/june (from dubai-middle east) ... am planning to stop over somewhere in asia for a couple of days, the continue to australia. Which country or city to recommend and why?

I just spent a couple of days in Singapore. Warm weather, plenty of sites to see, great restaraunts, and very clean. Plus, you can fly Singapore Air (an airline that is about as good as they get, and no, I'm not an employee). Go to Raffles for a Singapore Sling (the long bar)!
