So Microsoft can avoid excessive amount of calls from users for technical support. The Windows Registry is at the core of the operating system. A few registry errors can lead to the crashing or crippling of a computer. Even worse, it may even make it unusable, which is why Microsoft doesn't include a registry cleaner. By the way, many computer vendors also block the changing of BIOS settings. Many users like overclocking their computers for better performance but some end up crippling their computers. As a result, the computer vendors get a huge number of calls.

A registry cleaner is not part of Windows operating system any more. Norton says it can clean your registry, but what it will do is make a royal mess of it. Use Microsoft's Live OneCare Cleanup Scan to quickly and safely scan and clean the registry, free.
