In my plant, our wastewater tanks are called Molley Browns (specifically, the pH test from the tanks are called that). I have been wondering why, but no one seems to know. Is this a common name across the industry (or at least along the Gulf Coast), or is it just some weird thing that is only at my plant? Thanks.

It's probably an inside joke from someone in the plant that just caught on. If you have a lot of sludge in the waste tank, the name may have been given because you couldn't sink in it if you fell in.
We had a central collection structure for our sewers at a plant that they called the SS Neversail because of the life ring hung on the handrail around the structure made it look like a boat.

I can only think of the Titanic and the lady on board they called "the unsinkable Molly Brown".
