I signed the back of a car title in California now I don't want the car, is there anything I can do? I wrote me name and address and signed it. The person I bought it from is willing to return it but doesn't know yet that I wrote my information on the back of the title. What can I do to get return this car back to this guy so he can sell it again? Any forms?

Just have the person who "sold" you the car go into the DMV and tell them that the "dog ate it" or something else like that. YOU should pay the fees associated with the cost of printing a new title.

Yes, have the owner of the vehicle go get a duplicate title. They do charge a fee for this and he may ask you to pay that bill since you are backing out of the purchase. Simple fix but a time consumer at any California DMV office.

The owner of the vehicle (the person you are buying from since you didn't change the title over) will have to get a duplicate title now. ( http://www.dmv.ca.gov/ ) to be able to sell his vehicle. Offer to pay the costs of that and apologize for the trouble you caused him.

yes ,if you changed your mind on the deal you don't have to accept it,but since your name is on the title id at least offer to have it changed back to his or her name, because they cant sell it now until it is changed back to their name, this way they wont be mad at you but your not the only one who has ever done this, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.
