A nice girft is to give him a nice watch and if you can get on with the boy's scout's signia on it, it will look awesome. And engrave teh date he became an Eagle scout in the back of the watch. It will be a wonderful keepsake, even after teh watch stops working.

That is a very good question. As a matter of fact it is. To achieve such an award takes years and a lot of work. Both my brothers are recipients of their Eagle. In a way it's like a graduation, an achievment of a long period of learning. The typical money gift is always appropriate, but for this particular award it is also cool to put together some sort of outdoor gift basket. Survival stuff like flints, waterproof containers, rope, MRE's, poncho, pocket knife, compass, binoculars, you get the gist. A combination of any of these things in a nice basket is awesome, or perhaps just one of the bigger items like the binocs. Good luck.

Some ideas:
An engraved pocket knife (with the Eagle scout emblem, his name, and the date of earning his badge)
Some other engraved object (money clip, tie clip)
A nice frame for his eagle medal, badge, and photo (for when he leaves scouts).

all the guys i know who achieved eagle scout rank were given a really nice, handmade arrow. they look realy nice, but shouldn't be used. i think they're more for decoration.
