1. Read some books on what your goals are.
Here are some titles and/or authors.
Selling The Invisible (About selling services and selling yourself)
All Tony Robbins books. (Choose the one that's best for you.)
2. Dress for the job you want.
3. Maybe they feel that you lack leadership skills. You say that you are great at helping others, and you have improved your confidence, but you said nothing about leadership qualities.
Read some books on the subject and really think about where you might improve yourself. And no matter what, never let anyone at work feel that you are disappointed or feel cheated by being pasted over for promotions. Let it be known that you are working extra hard at improving your abilities. Nobody cares who is right. They only care about being the winner.
I am a natural leader, not because I am better, but because I let others believe I am. I keep really excellent reading material on my desk, and I always let my superiors see me reading these books during lunch or breaks; NEVER during work-time. Just keep at it and never let anyone know you feel disappointed. It will make you look like a loser. Make them think that you are a REAL businessman.

1. File an employment discrimination case which will make you hugely unpopular but may air out some dirty laundry. I think that there are lawyers who take on such cases for cheap. Just receiving a letter from a lawyer whom you have retained may make the managers sit up and take you more seriously. But do you still want to work for them?

2. See a lawyer on the QT and follow his/her advice about getting out of the firm with as much good references as you can. Smile gamely, suck up to all of them, work hard. Start looking for another job with your latest good work reviews safely in hand to show that you are ready to move on up You've been passed over three times by management so it's safe to say that there is something about you or someone in that group that doesn't want you to move up. Three times is enough times to hit your head against the glass ceiling.

Now is the time to get a fresh perspective (hello, that's why you're here!) Good luck moving on. Gather your courage and move!
