made around 1870's i think if it was owened by a famous outlaw his name was james westley hardin it was traded for horse while he was on the run from the law

The .30-30 Winchester is now a .45 Caliber Winchester? It is starting to sound like it is a:

Model 1876 Winchester lever-action chambered in 45-75, since Winchester did not chamber any rifle or carbine in .45 Long Colt until the Nineteen hundreds.

John Wesley Hardin could have owned such a rifle and of course, he could have traded it for a horse. Hardin's criminal career begin around 1868 and ended around 1895. He certainly could have own an 1876 Winchester in .45-75, a popular rifle in those days.
