From my limited studies and experiences, the common factor of religions is "doing good." I'm not any type of an expert, but the different religions (Christian and non-christian) all talk about being nice and helpful, against brutality, bettering the world.
Unfortunately, we have people who make their on decisions about what "God wants them to do." This is the biggest problem in the Middle East. They are killing themselves and others in the name of God (Allah).
We Americans have the same problems, just not on such a large scale. Some fanatics have blown-up abortion clinics or shot their doctors. Hate groups, in the name of God, have beaten and killed people just because the person has a different color of skin or nationality.
The last days will cause everyone to make the decision of who they will follow. People will have only two choices: God or Satan. We will be united as one in which ever group we have decided upon. There will be a lot of hard hearted Christians in the following of Satan. And, vice versa.

The trick is to not look for a group to join up with. Organized religions are nothing more than really popular cults, whose members believe whatever they are told with out question. If you want to find your own kind of spirituality take a step back and take inventory of what is important to YOU. Do what makes you happy and you will live a great life. There is no need to become a zombie and conform a set of beliefs

All religions believe in a power beyond them. A Higher Power, whether it be evil or good. Religions are too divisive, so don't follow a religion, but let your religion be the words of Christ
"Love your neighbor as yourself and love the Lord thy God with all your heart, soul and might"

One common factor in all religions is that Atheists don't believe in it. If you're looking for a "religion," try following Christ.
