I left my job 6 months ago and changed my mailing address from my home address to a PO box a few months ago. Will my W2 be forwarded or returned to the sender? I know certain types of mail are not forwardable. My ex-coworkers who also no longer work for the company received their W2s last week so I know they have been sent out but I have not yet received mine.
Thanks for info.

Yes they will forward it, but if the change of address at the post office expired it would not be, Is he still getting mail forwarded from other sources? If not it may have expired, which would result in the W-2 being sent back to the employer.

Employers are required to send W2's to the last known address they have on file. The USPS will forward mail if you have submitted an official change of address form. I am not sure how long the post office forwards mail but 6 mo may be too long. if it is the form will be returned to the company and held there for you'

Companies have until the end of January 31st to send them out unless they can prove special circumstances to the IRS.

The simple thing here would be for you to call your ex company and tell them exactly what you said here.

I hope this helps

Yes most w-2's are forward-able. Unless the sender indicates that they don't want that to happen. Fed/State tax refunds are not forward-able!

good luck & blessing
