Also be sure to eat right and not too many sweets and junk food. Eat those kinds of food in moderation. And how much do you weigh and how tall are you that you want to lose 80 pounds? But anyway I wish you good luck on your weightloss journey.

Start out by walking - it's free, you can do it anywhere or anytime. Don't worry about the intensity right now - focus on the habit of going out and getting 30 minutes of cardio, 3 times a week. Losing 80 pounds is a marathon, not a sprint, so your best bet is to slowly move up with momentum.
For strength training - check out some videos (Netflix or the library will have a selection - try before you buy). Hand held weights can be fairly inexpensive (you can find some that are under $10 for a pair) - start out slowly, and build up.
Don't forget to watch what you eat. You will need to fuel your exercise with the proper foods. Good luck!

You have some good answers on here, but I am in the same situation as you with 40 lbs. to lose. I use the coffee table or a straight back chair to tighten up my upper arms. You back up to one or the other, which ever is the strongest and the right height for you. put the palms of your hands down, walk your feet out and push yourself up and down. It really helped my arms. I stopped drinking sodas since I found out they were causing me to gain. I drink 3 quarts of water a day. No butter, oil, or sweet milk. I even found out the watery milk has sugar in it. Take away your sugars, oils, bread, anything that you love to eat and find things to replace it and it helps so much. I walk, bike, and work in the yard for exercise. Before I weighed 201, now I'm down to 174, but I still need to lose about 40 more. If you need motivation I can help you and you can help me. I know it's very hard to do it alone. alabamalady813@yahoo.com

You need cardio. Start out by walking. Work up to jogging. You can do toning exercises along with cardio but cardio is a must!!! It is what helps you lose weight. Don't forget to adjust your diet accordingly. Weight Watchers is supportive.
