My job was about 2 hours away but since then I have found a job closer. I had rented the apartment for 11 months starting on August of 2005.

No, it's looked at as your personal choice, and isn't deductible.

I don't think so. (In the UK at least, they have a rule-of-thumb, "If you had to pay for it anyway, it's not deductable"). Since you had to have a place to live anyway, I doubt it's deductable.

unfortunately not. and expenses for commuting to and from work are not deductible either.

you can deduct the amount that you had to pay for to commute back and forth from work.
