There is no site specific way of losing fat... for instance, the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet.

The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. This could be brisk walking. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.

You are welcome to look at my 360 Blog of September 10 for additional ideas.

Walking is good, but like anything else you need to make sure you are eating healthy as well as exercising (walking). The best way to walk and lose the most amount of calories is to switch off between walking fast for a few minutes and then walking at a normal pace and then again walking fast. It is important to get your heart rate going. I'm working on the belly fat too. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, spot reduction is a long-cherished myth.

You cannot determine which areas of your body will lose fat or in what proportion they will lose fat, compared to other areas. Think of someone you know who has lost weight. Many people actually lose weight in the face first. But have you ever heard of someone doing facial crunches?

The best way to get rid of unwanted fat in any area is to do resistance exercises three times a week and engage in frequent cardiovascular exercise -- the kind that gets you sweaty and a little out of breath. This can help you lose weight and shrink your entire body -- particularly your waist, a key area to reduce if you want to save yourself from high cholesterol, high blood sugar, and heart disease

Good Luck

well, walking will help you burn calories, and thus lose weight all over,,,,, but to target a specific area, like the belly, you would need to do specific exercises,,,,, i do the core dance exercises, these, to me , better then situps or crunches,,,, just stand with your feet about a foot apart, keep them flat on the floor, keep your shoulders and body facing forward and straight,,,, then repeat each exercise about 20 times,,, do it several times a day,,,,, i have gone down from a size 14 to a size 8,,,,the exercises are,,,,,
1. lift your right hip,, then your left
2. push your pelvis forward, then stick your bum out back
3. rotate,,,, in a circle,,, hitting the four positions you did in the first two exercises, then reverse the rotation

start out with your hands on your hips, after you are use to the exercises, you can add in arm movements
you really can see and feel all of your stomach muscles working

Walking helps in supplying enough oxygen to the body to burn fat. Fat is burned from all over the body, including the stomach. More information available at http://www.toloseweight.org/losestomachfat.html

All fitness experts say crunches, done properly, and planks. You should also do back exercises which strenghten your abs also.
A little cardio 3x a week burns fat faster.
