Hi,
I posted on here before about this, but months later this is still going on. I dated this girl a while back, and we broke up (bad break up - she dumped me in the end - i think we were both glad to be away from each other when it happened - very ugly). We never spoke afterwards, but when I would see her in school she would just stare at me.
I don't see her as much anymore, but it started again earlier this week. Blank stares at school when I saw her, and last night when I was leaving the mall I saw a girl who looked like her so I looked over. It was like she sensed it was me, and looked up at me right away. The same expressionless, blank stare. No aggression, but no delight. It makes me so uncomfortable that I turn away very quickly and just keep walking. She was with a guy (probably new bf) and I just walked out of the mall while she stood there stareing.
What is going on? Why does she keep stareing at me? It has been a long time since things ended between us.

I don't want to be friends with her, and I don't want to be with her again. Bad break ups can do this to you.

Yes, other people do look at me and I don't really notice as much, but it's because we had history is why I notice I guess.
One time she did try to acknowledge me - we were alone in a hallway and when she saw me her face lit up, gave me a huge smile and said "HEY" in the loudest and happiest voice, but I looked at her and told her to F-off. I don't like her. Stop looking at me.

Only knowing what you've said, sounds to me like she heard something about you or she heard you said something about her. OR it could be that someone told her that she couldn't see you anymore. So when she sees you she looks at you like that to tell you that it isn't your fault and she still likes you. "maybe not as bf/gf likes but she just can't talk in public because she was told not to..,

no idea why is she staring at you especially when you both have gone separate ways. I guess maybe it might be the way she is reacting. What I meant was some people look at something or a person, they might have recollection of the past. she might be just gazing at you but thinking. Or either that, she is probably trying to observe to see if you have any reaction when both of you look at each other. Have you tried like waving or just nodding your head as a indication that you acknowledge her presence? see if you get a different reaction from her.

Sounds to me like you took this breakup really hard. There could be tons of reasons why she would be staring at you.
She could feel sorry for the bad breakup and wishes she could tell you so to save face.
She could be wishing she could just gouge your eyes out.
She could just be thinking about the good times that the two of you had and wished it didn't end the way it was.
Or wait a min. are you sure she was even staring at you, were you the only one in the room at the time? She could have been looking past you and your paranoia kicked in and automatically assumed that it was you that she was gawking at.

I think the look is because of what you told her the time she tried to acknowledge you. (Unless she is the run away bride chick. If so, she just looks that way - she has those kind of eyes...) If I was trying to be nice and you told me to f*** off, I would glare at you every time I saw you, too.

Just ignore it and move on...
Try making a silly face next time to see if she snaps out of the blank stare... LOL

i get this feeling she thinks you're still interested in her and she's trying to let you know she's not keen. or maybe she is, that's why she's trying so hard to appear blank!
if you're not interested, just ignore her! other people are also looking at you, just you don't notice.

She must have conflicting feelings for you. She is trying to figure something out. Maybe she is wondering why things didn't work out.

I think shes worried your going to tell the new guy your seeing her with ...something ...about the two of you that she doesn't want him to know....forget about her...its time to move on.
