I mean from a male perspective at least? I mean aren't we wasting part of life? When Sperm Combines with an Egg it begins to divide and creates life....so isn't it safe to say that masturbating kills souls also? or possible ones? Like the movie monty pythons the meaning of life "Every Sperm is Sacred"? do people believe that to be true?

life begins from conception, eg when the sperm and the egg combine together to create a bunch of cells. sperm it self is not life, and so masturbating doesn't kill any thing living except the sperm cell, but then again, they will only live for a certain amount of time in ur testicals anyway, before being replaced by new sperm cells.
basically having a w*nk doesn't kill any souls, or potential ones, it only kills sperm cells that would die after a while inside your body anyway, it won't make you go blind (unless u get it in ur eyes) and it's pleasurable, so go have fun my friend

To add to this, masturbation is not a sin unless you consider it more important than God.

Danny H - marriage was a human idea to allow 2 people to publically express their love for each other, and to make them legally bound to each other.
It depends on whether you are a fundamentalist and believe the bible word for word or if you take it as the truth and guidelines of how to live your life.
Surely the "no sex before marriage" is a simple way of saying dont be a whore and sleep around, or that sex is a special thing not to be wasted on one night stands, But kept for those who you love.

Masturbation is a sin because it is a misuse of sexuality. Sexuality is intended as a celebration of the marriage covenant and a sharing in the creative power of God because children spring forth from it. Naturally, a soul isn't created until conception occurs. Until then, a sperm cell is not a living soul, just like an egg cell is not a living soul. It is only when the two combine does life begin.

I think there are reasons to believe masturbation is wrong, although I don't believe it stands up to abortion. You are not killing a human being when you masturbate, you are killing a human when you have an abortion. You should read "Every Young Man's Battle" by Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker. They have other books, but they talk a lot about what you're asking. They give a good Christian view point that applies to the real world of sexual temptation.

It's no more absurd an idea that the one that says aborting a ball of cells is the same as murdering a genuine human being.

Let's face it, if the Flying Spaghetti Monster hadn't intended us to shag and masturbate, he wouldn't have made it so pleasurable. He's have put spikes on it or something!

No. The belief is that the soul enters at conception.

The Meaning of Life was a hoot! Especially when Death comes to the dinner party.

What is being aborted? Once something gets going and is suddenly stopped, that is abortion.

Spent seed is just waste, though pleasurable, but never as good as the real thing.

There are some "Pro-life" groups who believe exactly that--they are the ones who oppose not only abortion, but ALL forms of birth-control.
