I would like this to be translated into Japanese. " The man may be the head of the family but I'am the neck and without the neck there is no head"..... thank you for your time....

I would go for less of a literal translation and would equate your statement with that of a building:
"Otoko wa kazoku no hashira kamo shiremasen ga, watashi wa sono dodai desu. Dodai nashi dewa, ie mo kazoku mo nari tachimasen."
