You should dress to blend in with the other guests. No jeans or khakis. Dark dress pants and a nice white shirt would be okay. But I am most concerned that you have never shot a wedding before. Do you realize that is the hardest thing related to photography that you can do? You need to have the proper equipment and that means two good cameras and lenses. If your camera should malfunction, you need a backup. You need to know how to group the relatives and how to light the bride and groom in their pictures. This is not a do over thing! If you don't get the shot when it happens, you can not ask them to do it again. Do these people know that you have never done it before? This is the most important day of their lives and if you screw it up, they could sue you. However, if they have a professional photographer and you are just going to shoot extra pictures that the other one can't get, then you should be okay. You may take good pictures of general subjects, but a wedding is much much harder. If these are friends of yours, and they don't like the pictures, you will lose them as friends. I have spent a lot of time in the camera and photography sections, and believe me, you are taking a big chance by doing this. I hope you will reconsider and back out of it. Tell them to get a pro to shoot their wedding.
