How do I get XP to remember the taskbar settings?

There is a registry edit that will lock the settings

Don't understand.

The Taskbar holds shortcuts to programs to enable us to launch them quickly and while in another program without having to return to the desktop or go through Start, Programs.

What are you trying to do?
