I need to send an International Money Order to the UK in Pounds Sterling. I've never done this before, so please give me the "for dummies" version of how and where. Do I go to a bank, or is a post office sufficient? From what I've read, Australia Post has Western Union money orders, but they are only available in US dollars. Is this the case? Also, I don't want to transfer the money, I just want an international money order, so please don't give me information about transfer services. Thank you.

Western Union does money orders too (from Australia Post website):
"Western Union International Money Orders
It's easy to send a money order to the USA. Western Union money orders are sold at all larger postal outlets.
They are issued in US dollars only, but can also be accepted as foreign currency deposit instruments outside the USA, at the discretion of the recipient’s bank."

I was just wondering if they did it in Pounds sterling too.

Go to a bank and ask for an international bank draft, tell them how much you want in punds they charge you at a preety good exchange rate, you pay them in aussie dollars and they just charge a small fee for the service (used to be about $10) You simply post it and the person who recieves it banks it into their bank. So Simple and convenient!

Western Union is not a money order service. It is a money transfer company. A money order is just like a cheque that is drawn on a foreign bank. The post office should have money orders. Banks and big foreign exchange companies do. There's a commission taken on a money order, so you should look around for the best exchange rate and commission.

First see if where you live has a money exchance and then go to your local post office and send a money order that way. Im pretty sure they accept monies from other countries.
