howard had a lazer left jab but his right was a pillow, looks like big money backing sugar ray made the right choice ,even though the original knock on him was that he (leonard) had frail hands and the choice was this olympian or that one (davis, leonard), back to the topic...(sorry) arguello had a good right hand and left hook and a pretty good jaw, 15 rounds would have been a good test , my choice arguello decision 9-6 with a late knockdown or two...

This is not a good question how could anyone think that Howard Davis Jr. could not last more than 8 rounds with the Hard Hitting Thin Man Alexis Arguello I saw Davis two title attempts and neather champion is going to the Hall of Fame I can,t even remember who he fought Arguello would have taken his time to adjust to Davis hand speed then he would make his move a straight right hand down the middle fight over

No Alexis never feared well with fleet footed classy boxers. He was far to slow and straight up and down kind of a fighter for Howard Davis Jr.

Arguello would control this fight throughout. Decision for Arguello.

Absolutely

Arguello had a very good chin and although Davis had a decent left jab, he had nothing in the way of power compared to Alexis.
