Last week I took a pork roast out of the freezer to thaw out in the fridge. My husband ended up in the hospital, so I never cooked it . Two days later I put it back in the freezer hoping that it will still be good. Should it be good still? I dont want to get my family sick .

I go by the smell, thaw the meat to see if it smells. You will know without a doubt if it is bad. I found this info on the site below, follow the link to learn more... Meats such as beef, pork, veal, lamb and poultry can be refrozen when they are still firm with ice crystals. Meat still safe to eat can be cooked and refrozen. Discard meats if any signs of spoilage are present. Good Luck! =)

As a rule of thumb uncooked meat should never be refrozen. The reason is that bacteria have started to grow while thawed and when rethawed will grow at a very rapid rate. The cost of the meat is not enough to put your family or yourself at risk

If it was thawing in the fridge, it probably was not thoroughly thawed. It is fine. Cook to 170 degrees F

Was it fully thawed when you put it back? I would trust it if it was not all the way thawed, but personally, I would forget about it if you put it back...others may think different....you don't know the history of it before you got it!!

WELL if it was totally thawed and stayed in the frig you might get rid of it because once thawed and not cooked it might be bad.
