What problems might one encounter by being the bearer of the gift of healing?

Bodies heal themselves. That's the only "gift of healing" there is. If you're a doctor, you could help the body along, but that's about it.

Do you mean like Jesus? I would say look at his example. He healed many and was martyred.

People may not realise that you exercise your gift of healing not by your own will but as the Holy Spirit wills. You can only release the healing as the Holy Spirit anoints you. Sometimes even when you administer healing at the Holy Spirit's prompting, people may expect an instant miracle whereas you may have released healing which will gradually come to pass if those who are ministered to keep in faith.

It will profit you little. There are many gifts, but the greatest gift is CHARITY. Desire to have charity and everything else will come natural. If you are not aware of 1st. Corinthians chapter 12 and 13 King James Version, I suggest you read that Scripture as it is the guidelines given to us as Christians........

first of all, if you are female, they are less likely to believe you. If you are a single female, they may never accept you.
be humble and pray about whatever you feel led to do. and just be obedient..when healing comes, give all glory to God and stay out of the spotlight, or you will end up like most men ministers...
another problem might be unbelief of the sick person... if they do not believe your gift, or if they get healed, and then fall into unbelief, they coudl loose their healing..then it will look like you failed... you have to counsel each person to stay in faith to keep their healing.

Some people may be jealous, some may doubt and some will say the gift of healing ended in the new testament. If you have that gift, be thrilled and pray to be used for the Lords glory.

If you mean being a bearer of Christ, then you will have a share in His suffering and pain, but in the end, and share in His reward. God bless and take care.

One problem is that people will think you are a kook if you believe that you posses the "gift of healing."

gift of healing? All i can think of is, when little susy has the sniffles, guess who gets that midnight call.
