The only reason they live in is because they work there. They have become verbally abusive and violent. They won't leave without a 30 day notice. But they quit.

Call the cops and have them removed. Housing was part of compensation as an employee. No longer an employee, no more housing. You are not obligated to pay wages to a person that is not in your employee. Same principle applies here. First things first, issue documentation to the employee confirming to him that he is no longer in your employee. It's the same house but mail it to him via registered mail anyway so you have proof of termination date. Whatever you do, do not start charging rent. This will imply a rental agreement and you'll be subject to the laws governing such. Meaning you might not be able to make him leave for up to a year.

In most states you need to serve a 30 day eviction notice. In some states you might be in even more trouble because being there with no job or anything makes them a squatter and they cannot be forcefully evicted. Talk to a lawyer about this, the last thing you need is a lawsuit.
