Deuteronomy 13:

6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, "Let us go and worship other gods" (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. 9 You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone him to death, because he tried to turn you away from the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.

IF SO, PLEASE EXPLAIN HOW THIS IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT THE TALIBAN DOES? IF NOT, HOW CAN YOU PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT IS VALID FROM THE BIBLE IF THE ENTIRE WORK IS THE WORD OF GOD?

AND DON'T TELL ME JESUS OVERTURNED THE TEACHINGS OF THE OLD TESTAMENT. HERE IS WHAT JESUS SAID:

Matthew 5:
17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

WHEN YOU SAY THAT IT HAS TO BE READ "IN CONTEXT" YOU ARE BASICALLY SAYING YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN IT, BUT YOU CAN'T ACTUALLY BRING YOURSELF TO ADMIT IT USING HONEST LANGUAGE, RIGHT?

JESUS SEEMS TO AGREE WITH THIS PHILOSOPHY OF STONING PEOPLE TO DEATH:

Mark 7:
9And he said to them: "You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe[c] your own traditions! 10For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,'[d] and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'[e]

Sorry buddy. Christians will twist that little nugget around until it makes sense to them.
If one were to take the bible seriously, one would go mad. But, to take the bible seriously, one must be mad.
This goes for all religions.

whether he does it or not, it's certainly not your bussiness to be the arbiter of that.

Apart from being thousands of years old and descending from an absolutely different historical period (region and culture also) the book (Bilble) that you seem to have indeed very closely studied cannot be viewed as a gold standard for the contemporary concepts of what is right or wrong in a great number of areas most of which don't have the slightest relation to politics.
Doing quite the opposite does nothing but exhibits the similarities between different religios "fanatics" (non-overzealous Muslims for the sake of information have a religion quite comparable to the Christianity).
I guess the Bilbe has nothing to do with the terrorists issue (unless you are trying to compromise the Chirstianity in some way).

That passage in the Bible is from the Old Testament. In the New Testament Jesus preaches peace and love, even for those of a different religion. Jesus talks of many things that do away with the old laws of the Jews. Formally, that was done, but since Jesus, God no longer asks that you kill your neighbors and friends because they test your faith. There is no picking and choosing in the Bible. Only thourough understanding. I read my whole Bible once and it left me with many questions. But as I read it a second time I am finding things that I never saw before. Take your time when studying the Bible and I hope that you can find all of your answers. And in response to what you said about Jesus' quote about not overturning the Jewish laws; it was decided that people who are not jewish did not have to follow Jewish traditions, such as circumsism and animal sacrifice. So I think that unless you are Jewish, then that law does not apply to you

What you have stated in Deuteronomy 13 is not a Law which Jesus said he came to fulfill.

One of the Commandments says Do not commit murder.

Jesus also said to the men who wanted to stone the woman who committed adultery "Those without sin cast the first stone". As a result none of the men could stone her.

This passage is about what is right and what is wrong. Why would you want to test this theory. If you do repercussion will start to haunt you.

Many people defy God every day, most turn back to God and fix the problem they cause. Others cannot as they don't have the power. But they had the power to destroy. To know the difference between right and wrong is not just a surface belief you have to be blessed from God to be able to understand the difference, this has been blessed for many that are here to turn bad situations back into good.

These people like myself a persecuted everyday in other matters, but God has assured us this will be rectified

Obviously, Deuteronomy was written before Jesus was born and killed on a cross for all of our sins.

These were the old ways. History, as far as Christians are concerned.

Jews on the other hand are told by God to defend their land and God. They are God's chosen people.

Even in Jesus's time, the rest of the world didn't know about the Jewish God. It wasn't until Jesus told the diciples to go throughout the land and preach to the massess that "Christians" became who they are.

Jewish laws have nothing to do with Chrisitans.

Peace!
You have to analyse the last part of verse 18 to see what Jesus meant. Jesus said UNTIL ALL IS FULFILLED, which means that after his death and resurrection the new law will take effect. The Mosaic law will no longer be binding. Actually this discourse of Jesus is an introduction to the new law.
Have a nice day

Christians like to have messages in the Bible make sense and adjust to their comfort and lifestyle... thats why theres like 50 types of different Christianity faiths..

so why don't the modern bible just exclude the old testiment..? Since the contents in those books seems to be meaningless...

This is a very sticky topic... =/ and theres' probably no earthly answer to it...

Well, before you take a passage out of the bible to debate, try reading all of Deuteronomy first.

You will find that the people had no choice but to do that. It was actually brother against brother then, and many of the people who did worship other gods at the time committed acts of violence against the Hebrews.

I do respect your opinion, but try to become more wise in the teachings of the bible. By doing so, you yourself may even become Christian. God Bless.

Yes, of course that's from the OT people will say.
Fortunately in the NT we have Mark 7:9 so we can continue the killing with Jesus approval.

If Jesus did not overturn this, as you said, then what does the following quote from Jesus mean???

'You have heard that it was said, "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth". But I say to you, do not resist an evildoer. If anyone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also..
