what, you don't think other people in WI have computers? geez! it's a whole freakin' state, and it's not that small. If you were from Christmas Island and found another person on Y!A from Christmas Island, then the surprise might be warranted. But Wisconsin? meh. you sound too easily excitable.

lots of viruses go around. Colds, influenza, STDs, etc. But one virus making the headlines is norovirus, and it is the source of a lot of outbreaks right now.

anyway, Norovirus is a HIGHLY contagious virus that causes the stomach flu. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps. Illness durations is generally 72 hours, with an onset of about 12 hours after exposure.

Here's how you get Noro:
* Eat food that has been contaminated with the virus, whether naturally-occuring contamination, or mishandled by a sick person.
* Change diapers for a sick baby (or elderly person) and not wash your hands properly afterwards
* Use the toilet after a person sick with Noro has vomited or had a diarrheal episode in there (Norovirus can become airborne after being spewed out of a sick person)
* Come into close contact with a person sick with Noro (again, this virus can become airborne, and it's really hardy)

There is no cure for Noro, but it's short. If you get sick, do NOT take antibiotics. Instead, get bedrest and drink both Gatorade and water to maintain your fluid balance. Afterwards, clean your bathroom with bleach and Lysol so no one else gets sick, too.
