Water and fiber.

25g of fiber paired with whole-grain carbohydrates will keep your stomach full. They take a long time to digest, so the nutrients and calories are released slowly. You feel fuller faster, and stay full longer.

It's also part of a well-balanced diet - something that is actually PROVEN to help you lose weight.

Beleive it or not, fiber supplements like Metamucil (sugar free) work wonders to control your apetite. The fiber expands in your digestive tract and makes you feel full, and in the process can help lower your cholesterol. Be careful with "diet pills". They may contain caffeine or ephedra, which is only a temporary solution to a permanent problem.

Yes it is very similar in chemical structure to amphetamine, ie speed. Which I believe was a major constituent of 80s diet pills. It has nasty side effects you're right, I wouldn't use it.
